First things first, you’ve had an impressive HR and Talent Acquisition journey across the globe. When did you realise this was your passion space and what was the penny drop moment for you?

Honestly, it wasn't something that happened overnight, it was a gradual discovery. I’ve always followed my heart, naturally gravitating toward what brings me joy and that was guiding people. That is what led me to people-focused roles, where I could practice what I love to do every day in the world of fashion!

The real penny drop moment?  Seeing firsthand how the right people don’t just fill roles—they shape businesses, define brand identity, foster culture, and drive innovation. Talent is the backbone of any organisation, and when I realised the power of matching the right person to the right opportunity, it all clicked. That’s when I knew - this is what I love. Helping people find their dream careers while partnering with businesses to build something bigger—it doesn’t get better than that.

What made you decide to pursue a speciality in TA over remaining in the HR business partner space.

TA is where my passion lies day-to-day, but I felt in order to excel, I needed to understand the full HR landscape, and how that applied within the fashion retail industry. It was important to me to take that first step to build capability and apply that knowledge holistically for businesses.

My HR Business Partnering experience allowed me to approach talent strategically, across recruitment, talent mapping, workforce planning, salary benchmarking, and organisational development. It enabled me to be a better partner in shaping teams, driving brand identity and attracting the right talent.

I like to think HRBP was the building blocks in pursuing my dream in TA.

You’ve worked for some of Australia’s favourite fashion darlings. What advice do you have for job seekers looking to stand out in an interview with their own favourite brand?

  • Be authentic—your individuality is your greatest asset. Tell your story, and what makes you unique.

  • Take the time to truly understand how your values align with the brand. What is it about the brand that excites you, motivates you and gives you purpose? What is the genuine connection that sets you apart?

  • Talk through your experience. Don’t be afraid to be innovative, bring your creativity, and showcase your ideas.

What are you most excited about in your new role with us at Relier?

The opportunity to be part of an inspiring, passionate team that truly elevates talent across the most beautiful brands. My journey with Relier has been incredible—first as a client, then a candidate, and now a team member. I’ve seen firsthand the dedication, expertise, and care that the team puts into connecting the right people with the right businesses, driving brand success.

To now be part of that journey is a proud moment—one that still feels like a dream come true. I almost have to pinch myself!

What are your words of wisdom for those who are looking to secure their first role in fashion recruitment or HR?

  • Build your network, take on projects, internships, and opportunities that help you gain experience. It is not just about how well you know HR/Talent but how well you know the industry and your connection to the brand.  It is a competitive market, it takes patience, time, dedication.

  • Explore the brands you admire, immerse yourself in their world, and find the ones that truly resonate with you.

  • Remember, fashion is a fast paced, thriving and dynamic industry -  Being agile and adaptable should be part of your DNA!

And last but not least, we do work in fashion, darling, so what’s the next purchase on your wardrobe Wishlist?

So many choices, but if I had to pick just one—it’s the Hutton Leather Bomber Jacket from DISSH! A timeless piece with just the right edge.
