THE NEW WAY

TO NETWORK

We know how powerful networking is when looking to elevate your career and land that dream role. But it is important to note that networking is a real skill and takes time and patience to build relationships and real connections, gone are the days of a one-and-done coffee date. Read on as we share the new ways to network.

ONE

Clearly define your networking goals within specific, tangible framework. Then start thinking about who might be able to help you advance, or even achieve your goal. Consider who that person is and the best way to communicate with them. Be thoughtful and deliberate in your approach, it’s the right thing to do when networking.

TWO

Combine your online and offline pursuits. Nothing tops meeting up over coffee or even a cocktail, but the relationship must continue to build in an online space. Connect on social media and networking platforms such as LinkedIn. Think of them as physical spaces, it has never been easier to reach out and expand your network.

THREE

There are many great online networking forums and ways to connect with likeminded groups and individuals. Consider joining Facebook groups with shared interests, online mentor forums such as She Mentors or events such as Toastmasters. These are all great places to network and get to know others in your industry.
