You’re the Right Fit:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA)

  • Can demonstrate commercial business acumen and experience within product business preferably fashion retail

  • Have prior experience with Shopify and understand the complexities of inventory-management

  • Strong technical accounting skills & experience 

  • Understanding of global business finance requirements

About the role

Reporting directly to the General Manager & CFO, this role will oversee the company's day to day financial operations. The role is a general finance role, encompassing all financial aspects to support the business as they enter their next phase of growth. The role would suit a finance professional that can manage the day to day responsibilities whilst supporting with analysis, reporting and compliance with relevant tax laws.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage the EOM close process, ensuring that all financial information is accurately reconciled to source doucments including making all necessary adjustments. This role will maintain a balance sheet reconciliation file and review the accounts with the CFO on a monthly basis. 

  • Manage and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, in line with the budget and commercial knowledge of the business.

  • Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, providing analysis to the GM and CFO to support business strategy and performance tracking.

  • Review monthly accounts and support the CFO in providing variance analysis to support in decision-making and identifying areas for improvement.

  • As the business grows there are ad hoc analysis tasks that would assist the business in decision-making that would form part of the role. The includes but is not limited to freight recovery, duties and taxes etc.

  • Assist the CFO in maintaining tax compliance for the business. This also includes collaborating with tax professionals in each region, to ensure compliance with relevant global tax laws.

  • Assist in  implementing process improvements to strengthen financial controls and efficiency across the finance function.

  • Entering production invoices into the system, ensuring they are split by work in progress timing and matched to purchase orders. It requires tracking goods through the production process to ensure proper inventory recognition, with weekly attention. Close collaboration with the production team and monthly factory reconciliations are needed, including reconciling inventory systems, invoicing, purchase orders, and goods delivery timing to ensure accurate inventory and work in progress.

  • Work closely with other departments to support financial planning, provide insights, and ensure financial alignment across all business units.
