About the Role

As the brands Designer/Product Developer you will be responsible for executing seasonal garment designs in keeping with the new brand identity. Ensuring the successful translation of design concept through to SMS and then final handover to the production department. This role will see you collaborate with the Creative Director during a core brand elevation time to lead the development, creative vision and execution.

In this role you will:

  • Work across design with your team to understand the creative vision and translate it into feasible product designs.

  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet brand standards.

  • Attend regular meetings to align on critical path deadlines and progress.

  • Conduct fit sessions with design and production stakeholders.

  • Provide accurate and detailed fit comments to makers and offshore vendors.

  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure all fabrics, trims, and treatments meet required quality, sustainability, and performance standards.

  • Use Illustrator to create precise technical drawings

  • Ensure all technical drawings are clear and detailed for supplier use.

  • Develop and source fabrics, trims, and hardware that align with seasonal design objectives.

  • Liaise with vendors to communicate design specifications, fit changes and production requirements.

  • Ensure vendors understand and can execute the design specifications accurately.

  • Resolve design and production issues at the sampling stage to prevent delays in the production timeline.

  • Monitor and manage work stages related to the critical path milestones to ensure timely completion of your work and delivery of collections.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external vendors.

You’re a fit if you…

  • Proven design experience within a luxury womenswear label is essential

  • Strong understanding of the entire design process, technical fabrications, trims and garment construction.

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Ability to self-motivate as its likely this role will see you working remotely

  • Strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in fashion design, innovation, and creative work

  • Proficient in industry-standard design software

  • A deep understanding of design principles, and a passion for innovation.
