INTERVIEW GREEN FLAGS

Interview green flags will reveal themselves throughout your interview with an employer. When preparing for your next application, we recommend having a handful of simple questions ready to ask the interviewer at the close of your time together. The hiring manager’s answers will give strong clues as to the type of culture the company has. You can use these answers to decide if the company is the right one for you.

THE Q:

What is the company stance on growth and succession?

THE A:

Listen up for practical examples of promotion from store to office, coordinators into managers and so on. This question should lead your interviewer to actual examples of this happening in their workplace.

THE Q:

What do you see as the future growth opportunities for the successful candidate in this role?

THE A:

Listen up for growth stories of the former person who was in the role, training and development opportunities, expansion plans or future strategies of the company or succession plans that have actualised in other departments in the workplace.

THE Q:

How did this role become available?

THE A:

Listen up for the vacancy arising because the last person was promoted, will be your new manager, is interviewing you or had an extended tenure with the brand.
