GET SEEN ON LINKED IN
This one’s for the self-confessed, non users. If you’re role hunting and want to optimise your profile in order to GET SEEN by recruiters out there… read on, sista.
ONE
COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE. This means, at a minimum, be sure you have a photo, an informative headline, an engaging summary, accurate role start and end dates and at least four skills.
TWO
YOUR HEALINE IS PRIME REAL ESTATE. Use it strategically. This means list your current role and your ambitions too. Eg. ‘Experienced Store Leader looking to move into Multi-Site roles within Australian Designer.’
THREE
MAKE YOUR SUMMARY YOUR COVER LETTER. This is your chance to shine. Make it targeted, not generic. Use statistics and numbers and aim make it both quantifiable and qualifiable in terms of your skills. HOT TIP: numbers are a great way to catch a skimming eye - we will see this first
FOUR
ACCURATELY LIST YOUR ROLES. Your role listings should align precisely with your resume. Make sure your end month is listed on each role (this so often gets missed.) If you’ve worked your way up through multiple roles with a company, list them all. We love love love succession stories!
FIVE
INTERACT, INTERACT, INTERACT. Linkedin is more than just an online resume. The algorithm priorities users who interact with their community. This means you should be sending connections, commenting on posts that inspire you and sharing posts that resonate with you. LinkedIn loves interaction.
