CREATE A HEALTHY WORK LIFE BALANCE

Finding the perfect work life balance can be a real challenge. We are here to share some advice on how we find the best of both worlds.

ONE

SET UP YOUR NON-NEGOTIABLE ME-TIME. Whether your style is yoga or boxing, beach walks or pilates, social chats or skulling wine … you need to set up a weekly schedule that ensures you clock off on time… have a weekly activity at least 1-2 afternoons a week that forces you to clock off and get to it on time. We like Tuesday Yin Yoga at 5:30 for our personal fix - but whatever gets you off that office seat in a hurry will do ;)

TWO

TURN OFF EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS. Before 9, after 5, on weekends and on holidays. Switch your email notifications off because we all know the temptation to reply to one email always spirals into an hour or so of work. You are not saving lives - the emails can wait (unless you are a healthcare worker - don’t listen to us pls).

THREE

CAN IT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW? Ask yourself this question in the last hour of every day. Which tasks can you automatically tack onto tomorrow’s to do list, and which are time sensitive and need to be completed before you clock off. Most things can wait! You are allowed to roll your to-do list into tomorrow and next week. It’s necessary for survival!

Remember, your working week should be treated as a marathon, not a sprint. Get smart with prioritising time-sensitive tasks, rolling others onto the next day and week, and most importantly, give yourself a reason to clock off on time. Work to live, don’t live to work, angel.
